Visit Stokeshire
At Stokeshire Designer Doodles, we’re honored to welcome you into our home & studio and introduce you to your future companion. Each visit is a meaningful step in the journey of bonding, training, and trust, but because the health and safety of our puppies come first, in-person visits are offered by appointment only and reserved for select clients.
Who Can Visit?
Visitation privileges are extended to our Pick of the Litter clients, especially those selecting a Service, Therapy, or Emotional Support Animal (ESA). Additionally, families participating in our Doodle School program may schedule a visit with their puppy during training.
🛡️ Important Health & Safety Guidelines
To protect the well-being of our puppies—especially those who have not completed their vaccination schedule—we ask that all visitors observe the following:
Avoid exposure to dogs, pet parks, shelters, or pet stores for at least 2–3 weeks before your visit.
Parvo precautions: This deadly virus can live on shoes, clothing, and car interiors. Please help us safeguard our litters by honoring this quarantine window.
Remove your shoes outside the studio before entering. A bleach mat will also be used for added sanitation.
Wash and sanitize your hands thoroughly before handling puppies.
Please use the restroom before your arrival — we do not have a bathroom available for guest use.
Supervise children closely during the visit. Children may not open gates, lift, or carry puppies without guidance.
These precautions may feel meticulous, but they are vital. Even one small exposure can put an entire litter at risk. Thank you for helping us create a safe, clean environment for every pup.
📅 How to Schedule
Visits are by appointment only and must be arranged in advance. Please use the scheduler below to request your preferred time, and be sure to review all instructions before arrival.
For the safety of our puppies, we do not allow general visits until after they’ve received their first Parvo vaccination (6–7 weeks old). This policy helps protect our litters from deadly disease. Visits are limited to pick families and training clients, by appointment only.
Your Stokeshire Puppy Pick-Up Experience
A Joyful First Journey
Congratulations on your upcoming adoption of a Stokeshire Designer Doodle — a decision we believe will enrich your life in ways both profound and joyful. As you prepare for this unforgettable day, we want to ensure your puppy’s first ride home is safe, calm, and filled with connection.
This guide outlines what to expect during puppy pick-up and how to make the ride home a beautiful first chapter in your life together.
Day of Pick-Up
Your puppy has been nurtured, socialized, and gently prepared for this moment — and we can’t wait to place them in your arms.
Arrival Instructions:
Please arrive at your scheduled time and send a quick text to 715.570.5718 with your estimated arrival. Timely updates help us prepare your puppy and ensure a smooth transition.
Your hosts — the Stokes family or a trained team member — will meet you at the designated location with everything ready for a memorable handoff.
Preparing for the Journey Home
To elevate your puppy’s travel experience, please consider the following:
Bring a secure crate or pet carrier: While we’ll provide a slip lead, a crate offers safety and stability — especially for longer drives. Puppies may also ride comfortably at your feet on a pee pad if secured and supervised.
Puppy-proof your vehicle: Remove loose or sharp objects. A clean, clutter-free environment lowers sensory overwhelm and promotes peace.
Temperature control is key: Maintain a consistent, comfortable climate — avoiding extremes in heat or cold.
Crate security: If using a crate, ensure it’s fastened with a seatbelt or placed where it won’t shift. Sudden stops should never mean sudden stress.
Plan ahead for breaks: On longer drives, brief stops allow your puppy to stretch, relieve themselves, and reset. However, avoid overfeeding or too much water en route to prevent tummy upsets.
Offer gentle reassurance: Speak in soft, calming tones. Even 15 minutes of soothing conversation can ease the transition from our arms to yours.
Never leave your puppy alone in the car: Even a quick stop can turn dangerous. Your puppy’s safety always comes first.
Before You Arrive
To preserve the health of all our puppies and ensure a smooth handoff:
Avoid dog parks, pet stores, and shelters for at least 2–3 weeks prior to visiting.
Remove your shoes before entering the studio or training areas. A bleach mat may be available for sanitation.
Please use the restroom prior to arrival, as we do not have a client bathroom on-site.
Wash your hands upon arrival and supervise children closely during the visit. Puppies are curious, wiggly, and still developing confidence.
Our Commitment to You
From our family to yours, we want every part of this process to feel intentional, beautiful, and full of heart!
If you have any questions before your visit or after bringing your puppy home, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here for you — now and for years to come.
