Purpose of Contract
*
Breeder is a “Doodle” breeder who maintains a Guardian Home Program. The program allows select breeding dogs—whether they are puppies or adult dogs at the time of placement (“Guardian Dog”)—to be placed with loving, permanent Guardian Homes, while the Breeder retains breeding rights for a predetermined period or number of litters/stud services. The Guardian wishes to (1) provide a loving, forever home to the Guardian Dog and (2) support the Breeder’s breeding program in accordance with the terms of this Contract.

Canine Good Citizen & Training Guardian agrees to train Guardian Dog toward AKC CGC certification and maintain ongoing socialization. Breeder reserves the right to make scheduled or unannounced visits to assess dog’s health, behavior, and training progress. 4. Transportation Guardian is responsible for transporting dog to and from all vet, fertility, or breeding appointments. Female puppies return to Breeder at approximately 7.5 weeks of age unless otherwise agreed in writing. 5. Communication Females: Guardian must notify Breeder at first sign of heat. Males: Guardian must report the presence of any nearby in-heat females. Breeder may request temporary relocation of dog during active heat cycles. 6. Ownership & Property Dog remains legal property of Breeder until contract terms are fulfilled in writing. All puppies born or semen collected from the Guardian Dog are the exclusive property of Breeder. Upon contract completion, Breeder will cover cost of spay/neuter and transfer full legal ownership to Guardian. 7. Breeder’s Responsibilities Provide healthy dog and care instructions. Cover all breeding-related expenses including health testing, insemination, and reproductive vet care. Take custody of the dog as needed for breeding, whelping, or semen collection. Resume ownership if Guardian is no longer able to uphold responsibilities (no refund given). 8. Guardian’s Responsibilities Provide high-quality diet, vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Maintain physical safety of the dog, especially during breeding-sensitive periods. International travel is prohibited without explicit written approval from Breeder. 10. Additional Health & Welfare No cosmetic or elective surgeries permitted without written Breeder approval. Emergency medical decisions must be reported immediately; Guardian may act to save dog’s life and must notify Breeder ASAP. 11. Behavioral Expectations & Return Clause Dog must never be used for fighting or abuse. In cases of severe behavior problems, dog must be returned to Breeder. 12. No Guarantee of Breeding Success Breeder does not guarantee litter size or successful matings. Compensation to Guardian is contingent upon confirmed and successful breeding outcomes. 13. Euthanasia or Major Health Decisions Serious health issues or euthanasia must be approved by Breeder except in cases of immediate suffering. Breeder pays for breeding-related health costs only. 14. Liability & Indemnification Guardian is liable for injury or damage caused by the dog. Guardian is encouraged to hold homeowners/renters insurance for dog-related issues. Guardian holds Breeder harmless for any claims arising from dog’s actions. 15. Termination Breeder may repossess dog if contract is violated or dog is endangered. Death of dog under non-negligent circumstances voids contract. Guardian may return dog at any time; no refund provided. 16. Severability & Liquidated Damages Guardian agrees to a $15,000 penalty if dog is altered (spayed/neutered) without written approval, is intentionally harmed, or absconds with dog. Contract is non-transferable without written approval from Breeder. If any clause is found invalid, all remaining clauses shall remain in force. 17. Image Rights Breeder may use photos of Guardian Dog for marketing and education. Guardian agrees not to alter or sell Breeder’s professional photos. Personal photos may be reshared by Breeder with credit. 18. Integration, Governing Law & Jurisdiction This contract is the full agreement. Governed by Wisconsin law. Any disputes must be resolved in Wisconsin courts. Right to jury trial is waived. 19. Enforcement & Amendments Prevailing party in any dispute may recover attorneys’ fees. Amendments must be signed in writing by both parties. 20. Virtual Signature All parties agree this document is binding whether signed physically or electronically. 21. Early Retirement & Buyout Option In cases where early retirement is warranted due to behavioral, medical, or environmental concerns, Breeder and Guardian may mutually agree to remove the dog from the breeding program. If Guardian wishes to retain ownership of the dog, Guardian agrees to pay a Buyout Fee calculated as:(Current Market Value of Dog) – (Guardian Program Fee Paid) = Final Buyout Fee This fee may be reduced at Breeder’s discretion based on Guardian’s history, previous investments, or performance within the program. Neutering/spaying may not occur until written consent is obtained from Breeder. Unauthorized alteration triggers the $15,000 penalty under Section 16. Upon payment and confirmation of alteration, legal ownership transfers to Guardian. A bill of sale or ownership transfer will be provided in writing by the Breeder.
